Swiss team for Darjeeling

CM Mamata Banerjee’s dream to make Darjeeling comparable to Switzerland is likely to come true.

A team from Switzerland would be visiting Darjeeling shortly to survey the area and submit a report to the state government suggesting measures for improvement of the tourism infrastructure of the Hills to make it as good as that of the Swiss mountains. Announcing this at a program in Darjeeling, Mamata said that from the day she had assumed power she had expressed her resolve to restore peace in the area and transform the place into a replica of Switzerland.
The CM inaugurated a railway recruitment board at Siliguri to make it easier for the people of North Bengal to have access for employment in the railways. She also inaugurated a police commissionarate at Siliguri and assured the people of better policing in the villages. The commissionarate will have 2200 policemen and include the Bhaktinagar area from Jalpiaguri.
