Modi mocks PM, Advani hails ‘Ram Rajya’ in state

Taking a swipe at the UPA government at the Centre, Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the Manmohan Singh government was “for the foreigners, by the foreigners and of the foreigners’’.
Modi was addressing Vivekanand Youth Convention at Bhuj where he was accompanied by his mentor and former deputy prime minister L K Advani, who has roots in Kutch district.
This was Modi’s third rally in the region as part of his poll campaign, the first two being at Bhavnagar and Rajkot.
The 50,000-strong gathering mainly comprised college girls and boys from across Kutch district.
Attacking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Modi said, “Bangladeshis created trouble in Assam and put a question mark on the existence of this state. But PM, who represents Assam in Parliament, remained silent. And now he has brought FDI in retail, which will benefit only foreign companies.”
In his speech, Advani hailed Modi’s rule as “Ram Rajya”. “Ram Rajya was an ideal kingdom. And for Gujarat, we see everybody has nothing but appreciation to offer. Go anywhere in the world, people are appreciating the Gujarat government.”
Advani also recalled how his family had settled down in Adipur in Kutch after leaving Karachi during the Partition in 1947.
