UPA's style of working not right: Samajwadi Party

NEW DEHLI: Moments after the Trinamool Congress announced its decision withdrawing support to the UPA government, the Samajwadi Party said the style of functioning of Congress-led government was not right.

"The way of working of this government is not right. That's why Mamata (Banerjee) withdrew (support)," said party leader Ram Gopal Yadav.

He said the Congress was behaving as if it had two-thirds majority.

Ram Gopal Yadav said his party, along with Left, Biju Janata Dal and Telugu Desam Party, had called a protest Sep 20 against recent economic decisions of UPA government.

He said NDA had also called a protest Sep 20.

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday announced that the Trinamool Congress was withdrawing support to the UPA government, and its ministers would submit their resignations Friday.

The decision was taken at a three-hour meeting of Trinamool leaders and MPs in Kolkata to protest against the hike in diesel prices and allowing foreign direct investment ( FDI) in retail trade.
