New Delhi: India beat favourites Cameroon to lift the Nehru Cup at the Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium here on Sunday night. It was the hosts' third straight trophy.
The Indians led by Sunil Chhetri got the better of their 59-ranked African opponents 5-4 on penalties.
Robin Singh, Chhetri, Denzil Frnco, Mehtab Hussain and Steven Miranda were on target for the hosts. Makon Thierry missed it for the Africans.
The teams were tied at 2-2 after 90 minutes. Gourmangi Singh and Chhetri scored for the hosts, while Thierry Nioga and Stephane Mpondo scored for Cameroon. The extra-time also went goalless.
