Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated Rabindratirtho a Research Center on Tagore at Newtown. Apart from Chief Minister the inauguration ceremony was graced by Housing Minister Firhad Hakim, Education Minister Bratya Basu, HIDCO Chairman Debashis Sen and other dignitaries from the entertainment industry.
While addressing the event Mamata Banerjee first congratulated the HIDCO officials for completing the project within nine months and then declared that the Rabindratirtho is consists of separate Research Center on Tagore, Tagore Museum, State of art Library, World class Auditorium, Student hostel etc. She further mentioned that the Rabindratirtho is a pre-puja gift for the city of joy Kolkata and is built on the theme of Santiniketon.
She then told that near Rabindratirtho state government is setting an Eco-Tourism Park on 400 acres land which will emerge as major tourist hub of Bengal where people will enjoy all the beauty of nature starting from luxury boating to seeing of migratory birds.
